Is Carb Cycling Good For Endomorphs?

Is Carb Cycling Better Than Keto?

How endomorphs can lose weight easily

If you’ve searched online for ways to lose weight, you’ve probably discovered the keto diet.

And, if you’ve learned more about the keto diet, then you’ve probably heard about carb cycling.

But is carb cycling good for endomorphs?

In this article, we’ll discuss if carb cycling is good for endomorphs and what endomorphs should do to lose weight.

What Is an Endomorph?

An endomorph is someone who gains weight really easily. However, endomorphs aren’t actually real, they’re just ways you can assess your situation.

For example, if you’re bigger & find it hard to lose weight, you may be classified as an endomorph.

However, being fat just means you have problems losing weight, not that you’re a certain body type.

Marketers like to use body types to sell people specialized programs, but body types don’t actually exist.

What Is Carb Cycling?

Carb cycling is a diet where you alternate between periods of eating less carbohydrates and periods of eating more carbohydrates.

During the low-carb phase, you would eat a lot of vegetables, olive oil, nuts, and fatty meats.

Then, during the high carb phase, you would eat higher carb foods, like pasta, macaroni, bread, corn, etc.

This carb-reloading phase is what causes people to gain weight during the keto diet. So, if you want to lose weight on the keto diet, you have to avoid carb-reloading and stay in the low-carb phase all the time.

Is Carb Cycling Good for Endomorphs?

No, carb cycling is not good for endomorphs. Carb cycling causes you to gain weight because your insulin spikes, and you get kicked out of ketosis.

If you are an endomorph, then you should do a strict ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting to lower your insulin and burn fat.

How Endomorphs Can Lose Weight?

Endomorphs can lose weight by following a keto diet and intermittent fasting. Both of these things will lower your insulin and put you into ketosis. This would allow you to lose weight easily since your body could then burn its own fat for fuel.

Keto

You can start a ketogenic diet by eating less than 50 grams of carbs per day.

This would put your body into ketosis, a state where your body can use its own fat for fuel.

This is a much easier way to lose weight since your body can “eat” its own fat so that you won’t be nearly as hungry or tired compared to other diets.

The best keto-approved foods are:

  • High-Fat Meats
  • High-Fat Dairy
  • Nuts
  • Seafood
  • Low-Carb Vegetables
  • Low-Carb Fruits

If you want to learn more about the best foods to eat on keto, here is my article going more in depth.

Intermittent Fasting

Another great way to lower your insulin is to do intermittent fasting.

In intermittent fasting, you don’t eat for a certain time of the day.

For example, some people on intermittent fasting skip breakfast and just eat lunch and dinner.

This allows you to lose weight without being too hungry because your body eventually gets used to skipping a meal.

If you want to lose weight even faster, then you can try OMAD fasting, which is one meal a day intermittent fasting.

How I Lost Weight

When I was overweight, I started with just a keto diet, & then I couldn’t lose anymore weight once I hit around 50% of my weight loss goal.

Then, I started keto and intermittent fasting and lost some more weight — around 75% of my goal.

However, I still had some weight to lose, so I did keto and OMAD fasting, which was surprisingly easier than intermittent fasting after I got used to it. This got me to around 90% of my weight loss goal.

Then, to put the nail in the coffin, I prolonged dry fasting, which is a type of fasting where you don’t eat or drink water for multiple days.

If you aren’t experienced with fasting, then prolong dry fasting will be difficult.

But, if you’re experienced with fasting, then prolonged dry fasting won’t be too hard.

This helped me to lose all the way I intended to lose.

Conclusion

Though body types don’t exist, if you are overweight, then you should not carb cycle because it would slow down your weight loss progress. Instead, the best way to lose weight is to do a strict ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. Keto and intermittent fasting helped me reach my weight loss goals with ease.

If you’re interested in starting OMAD fasting to boost your progress on keto, you can read my article here talking about the benefits of OMAD and how to start.
