Is Crystal Light Keto?

Is Crystal Light Keto?

The keto diet is one of the most popular diets out there.

I personally lost over 40 pounds with keto & can attest to its benefits.

But, when you start keto, you’ll notice that you can’t enjoy your favorite drinks, like fruit juice, anymore.

However, you’ve probably seen low-calorie alternatives to your favorite fruity drinks at the store, like Crystal Light.

In this article I’ll discuss how many carbs are in Crystal Light & whether it’s keto or not.

What Is Crystal Light?

Crystal Light is a powdered beverage mix that can be added to water to make a low-calorie drink. It’s a great alternative to sugary sodas and other high-calorie beverages.

Crystal Light comes in many flavors, including: Lemonade, Orange, Raspberry, Tropical, Grape, and even Iced Tea!

All of the varieties contain under 15 calories per serving.

Crystal Light is a flavored drink mix made with artificial sweeteners.

That’s why it has virtually zero calories & still tastes sweet.

But, there are multiple different Crystal Light varieties.

  • Crystal Light Classic––The Crystal Light Classic line is the most common one you see at the store. There are around 20 flavor variants for the original line.
  • Crystal Light Pure––Crystal Light Pure uses Truvia, instead of Splenda & aspartame. Truvia is made of stevia, so it’s healthier for your body compared to Splenda & aspartame. The Crystal Light Pure line has 15 flavors.
  • Crystal Light Pure Energy––As the name suggests, Crystal Light Pure Energy is more focused on giving you energy. Crystal Light Pure Energy has caffeine, biotin, niacin, vitamin B12, & vitamin B6. The Crystal Light Pure Energy line is available in 11 flavors.

Crystal Light contains water, artificial sweeteners, citric acid, and artificial flavors.

Some of the flavorings are natural, but most of the flavorings are artificial.

You might wonder how Crystal Light can be so healthy if it’s so sweet.

It’s because it uses artificial sweeteners.

Is Crystal Light Keto?

Crystal Light is technically keto because it only has 0 – 3 grams of carbs per packet. But, since Crystal Light is filled with artificial sweeteners & chemicals, it isn’t that healthy.

Consuming chemicals & artificial sweeteners can undo many of the great benefits of keto, like reduced inflammation, increased energy, & weight loss.

So, if you are super health conscious & don’t want to consume that many chemicals, I recommend not drinking Crystal Light.

Healthy, Keto Alternatives to Crystal Light

Instead of drinking Crystal Light, try replacing it with water or fruit flavored sparkling water. You could also make your own iced tea with stevia. You could also make a sugar-free iced coffee with extra creamer.

How Much Crystal Light Is Too Much?

Drinking more than 3 cups of Crystal Light flavored water a day is too much. This is because the artificial sweeteners in Crystal Light can irritate your body, & it may lead to a weakened gut bacteria
